St. Louis VAMC Fisher House

St. Louis VAMC Fisher House

The Fisher House is Helping Our Nation’s Heroes and Their Families!

Since opening on July 28, 2010, the St. Louis VAMC Fisher House has been privileged to serve over five hundred families of Veterans and active duty military personnel.

With over 20 suites available, Fisher House is able to provide space for families while letting them still feel at home. They understand how difficult it can be commuting to and from the hospital, so their close proximity makes it easy for families to take full advantage of their visit with their loved ones that are undergoing extensive treatment and/or rehabilitation.

They also offer ambulatory care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, neurology, and rehabilitation, and many other sub-specialty areas.

A recent guest of Fisher House stated:

“We were humbled by the graciousness of the staff and the over all generosity of the whole fisher house experience. If is comforting to know there are still those who look to the welfare of others. Especially our veterans and their families in time of need. Thank you and God bless.”

If you are interested in staying at Fisher House, you will need to be referred by a social worker or clinical staff member. An initial screening will be conducted to determine appropriateness and their rooms are assigned on a first come first served basis with one room available per veteran family.

In order to qualify, guests must have traveled a distance greater than 50 miles from their homes to the St. Louis area.

If you are interested in donating to Fisher House, you can contact them directly on their site to get involved.
